Paint San Clemente/Plein Art Competition – June 14th ~ June 27
Gala Dinner on Gala Evening, June 27st, 6:00pm - 8:30pm. In partnership with the City of San Clemente Beaches, Parks and Recreation Department, and presented by the San Clemente Art Association, this week long art extravaganza features the 6th Annual Plein Air Painting Competition as well as Gallery Exhibit, Quick Draw Competition, and Outdoor Fine Art Show. Prominent Southern California artists compete for $10,000 in awards and cash prizes. Proceeds fund art programs in local schools. All events are held at the San Clemente Community Center. 9th Annual Antique Show – Sun. June 22
In partnership with the City of San Clemente, The San Clemente Woman’s Club presents the 9th Annual Benefit Antique, Estate Jewelry Show and Sale with Appraisal Clinic. Admission $5.00 per person. Information: 949-481-5367

Fireworks Show – Sat.  July 4
Held at the San Clemente Pier each year, this event begins at dusk and is free to the public. A true “community and family” event, grab a spot early down on the beach for the best Fireworks show in Orange County!

Ocean Festival – Sat. and Sun. July 18 & 19
This is a fun, family event, with beach and water activities for everyone. Waterman and Waterwoman Competitions, open water swim, children's events, sand castle competition, ocean art show, wood car exhibit, pancake breakfast prepared by our city lifeguards, children's pavilion, free clinics for bodysurfing and body boarding and MORE!! Relay for Life - Sat. July 25 - Sun. July 26
The American Cancer Society’s ever-popular 24-hour Relay For Life event comes to San Clemente July 25, 2009 at the San Clemente High School beginning at 10 a.m. Teams of 10 –15 people spend 24 hours, even camping out over night, at the high school taking turns walking, rolling or running around the track relay-style. Each team pays a small team entry fee and each team member is encouraged to raise $100 for ACS and the fight against cancer. Sunset at Salt Creek - Fri. Aug 7, 2009
Mary Erickson Community Housing presents a fabulous fundraising event called "Sunset at Salt Creek". Dine, dance and listen to music right on the beach at Salt Creek. Time: 5:30pm - 8:30pm Tickets are $85 and includes food, music, dancing and parking. For more information call (949) 369-5419.

San Clemente Street Faire and Fiesta – Sun. Aug. 9

San Clemente Jazz Festival - Sept. 5, 2009
The First Annual Jazz Festival promises to be a wonderful event with an all-star roster of Grammy Award winning talent: Patti, Austin, Dianne Reeves, Joe Samples, Nathan East, Dave Grusin and more! Proceeds from this event will got to the San Clemente Beaches, Parks and Recreation Foundation. We ask that you support this event so we can take the Foundation's dreams and make them realities. San Clemente Open Skateboard Tournament – Sun. Sept. 20
The San Clemente Recreation Division and the Friends of San Clemente Beaches, Parks and Recreation Foundation are co-sponsoring the 5th Annual Skateboard Tournament at the San Clemente Ralph's Skate court located in Richard T. Steed Memorial Park. This Skateboard Tournament is open to boys and girls ranging in age from 7 years and under through adult, both amateur and sponsored. Info: (949) 361-8264.

Character Counts! Jamboree – Sat. Sept. 26
Presented by the Orange County Sheriff's Department and the City of San Clemente, this free community-family fair includes more than 70 booths, displays, arts, crafts and children's performances. Event takes place from 11am - 3pm. Patriotic opening ceremony at noon. Static displays by the Orange County Sheriff's Dept. O.C. Fire Authority, San Clemente Life Guards, Animal Services, U.S.M.C. Seafest – Sun. Oct. 11
The Seafest features a Chowder Cook-off with citizens, restaurants, and businesses competing for the best chowder. The event also includes: Arts & Crafts Show, Surf Contest, and Business Expo. United States Coast Guard Search and Rescue Demo Operation, Face Painting; Kiddie Rides and much more! Free shuttle parking is available at San Clemente High School. Hunger Walk – Sun. Oct. 18
This benefit 5k walk raises funds for local families in need and 100% of the proceeds goes back into the community in the form of client aid. Dana Point Turkey Trot 5k/10k - Thur. Nov. 26
The Dana Point Chamber of Commerce presents it's Annual Turkey Trot. This is the 2nd largest Thanksgiving race in the nation. There is a gorgeous flat course running through Dana Point Harbor and Doheny State Beach and new this year is prize money in the 10k. There will also be "chip timing". and Race starts at Dana Point Harbor & Golden Lantern. The cost is $28.00 per person. 5k & 10k and Kids’ Race 1-mile (Ages 5-12). USATF certified courses. Holly Jolly Hoopla – Sat. Dec 5
We’re bringing you more than just Santa this year! This holiday spectacular will convert the Community Center into the North Pole, complete with live penguins and reindeer, sled rides on REAL snow – plus Mrs. Claus’ Bakery where you can decorate cookies and enjoy a variety of other food options. The holiday hoopla will also include strolling characters and entertainers, carnival games, face painting, and arts and crafts. Of course, the season wouldn’t be complete without falling snowflakes and Santa visits (bring your camera). Don’t miss Santa’s reading of “The Night Before Christmas” followed by the lighting of the City’s Holiday Tree at 5pm. Whether you’ve been naughty or nice, we hope you’ll stop by! Christmas Gift Exchange Program – Sat. Dec. 12
11am - Join the Family Assistance Ministries for this wonderful Christmas event. Presents will be handed out to needy children of our community and lunch will be served. If you are interested in donating gifts please call the Family Assistance Ministries at 492-8477.
