Congress passed a new law in 2005 making Daylight Savings earlier!  this year. Don't forget to set your clocks!

15th Annual Festival of the Whales – Sat. and Sun. March 8 & 9

Annual St. Patrick's Community Dinner & Dance – Sat. March 15
Tis’ the annual community St. Patrick’s Dinner Dance sponsored by the Exchange Club. Corned beef and cabbage with all the trimmings served from 5pm – 10:00pm.  Plus Live entertainment.  Ticket donation a wee $15 per person.  This is a fund raiser for local charities hosted by Exchange Club and the City of San Clemente. Easter Eggstravaganza - Sat. March 22, 2008 
A whole morning of family activity at San Gorgonio Park starting at 7:30 with the traditional pancake breakfast offered by the San Clemente Kiwanis Club. All activities except the breakfast are free. Activities include: Group Games and Rad Relays, “Kid Print” Free Child Fingerprinting, Giant Easter Egg Hunt & Candy Scramble (Ages 1&2, 3&4, 5&6, 7&8, 9&10, 11& 12), Easter Bunny Visits and LOTS MORE!! Sensational Springtacular – Sat. April 11
It's the great big egg event that you just don't want to miss: Activities, entertainers, and a gathering of things to do that will leave you speechless! Egghunts, unlimited action, plus Little Bo Peep and her herds of sheep, a wandering Path of Random Facts, and the usual indulgences - like pony rides, face painters, jugglers big and small and other astounding acts of fun! Community Easter Brunch –  Sat. April 11
Sponsored by the Family Assistance Ministries, in partnership with the City of San Clemente. 10am  Ole Hanson Beach Club. San Clemente Garden Fest – Sat. April 18
San Clemente Garden Club (SCGC) is featuring an amazing “Community Gardenfest”. The major theme reveals the occasion is about community involvement. The event runs from 8:00am to 4:00pm. The "Gardenfest" is co-hosted by the SCGC and the City of San Clemente Beaches, Parks, and Recreation Department and is held at the Community Center on Del Mar St. Info 361-8264

Hershey Track and Field Event – Sun. April 19
Open to boys and girls ages 5-14 years of age and held at San Clemente High School.  Sponsored by the City of San Clemente Recreation Division, The San Clemente Track Club and Hershey Foods. Event begins at 12:30pm. Ages 9-14 years are eligible for advancement to State Finals. Pre-registration at the Community Center or through the San Clemente Track Club. Registration will also be accepted the day of the event from 10am – 12noon. Registration is free. Please bring a photocopy of your child's birth certificate for registration. Kick Off Party for Relay for Life - Thur. April 30
Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature event in the fight against cancer.  Join the "Kick off" celebration at the Pacific Golf and Country Club. The "main event" takes place on July 25th. Teams of 10 –15 people spend 24 hours, even camping out over night, at the high school taking turns walking, rolling or running around the track relay-style. Each team pays a small team entry fee and each team member is encouraged to raise $100 for ACS and the fight against cancer. Cinco De May Fiesta – Sat. May 2
Celebrate traditional Mexican festivities at Max Berg Plaza Park. The program boasts a whole day of live entertainment featuring Maricahis, Aztec Dancers, Ballet Folkloric, ballad singers, and many live bands. Other activities include children’s games, contests, and crafts, authentic food and drink, annual art contest, and a great car display. 18th Annual Polynesian Festival and Luau Feast – Sat. May, 23
Celebrate the Polynesian culture with dance, music food and much more! This is a wonderful event that offers activities, 50+ vendor booths, live music and dance all day long. KSBR All-Star Birthday Bash – Sun. May 24
Whether you like your jazz hot or cool, mainstream or contemporary, the place to be on May 27 is the beautiful Mission San Juan Capistrano. With more than 30 headliners playing with each other in a giant jazz jam, each Bash is a once-in-a-lifetime concert for both the artists and the audience. The list of past Birthday Bash artists is a veritable "who's who" in the contemporary jazz world. The lawns are perfect for Bash-goers to set up their beach chairs or spread out blankets. Memorial day Observance – Mon. May 25
11am - The City of San Clemente will once again host a day to remember our fallen soldiers of war. All public and local organizations are invited to participate in the wreaths and floral presentation. To be part of that ceremony please contact Lori Fuentes, at (949) 361-8244. This program is co-sponsored by the SC South Coast Detachment, Marine Corps League, Orange County Sheriff Department, MOWW, and many civic organizations and volunteers. “The Ethnic and Artistic Sources that Inspired the Spanish Colonial Architecture of Southern California”. Dr. Elizabeth McMillian, Professor of Art History, University of Southern California, will speak on the influences that helped develop the Spanish Colonial Architecture so widely represented in southern California. Paint San Clemente/Plein Art Competition – June 14th ~ June 21
Gala Dinner on Gala Evening, June 21st, 6:00pm - 8:30pm. In partnership with the City of San Clemente Beaches, Parks and Recreation Department, and presented by the San Clemente Art Association, this week long art extravaganza features the 6th Annual Plein Air Painting Competition as well as Gallery Exhibit, Quick Draw Competition, and Outdoor Fine Art Show. Prominent Southern California artists compete for $10,000 in awards and cash prizes. Proceeds fund art programs in local schools. All events are held at the San Clemente Community Center.
