Candy Cane Carnival – Sat. Dec. 3
An array of holiday activities for children presented by the San Clemente Recreation Division and the San Clemente Jr. Woman’s Club. The program is 2:30pm to 6:00pm at the Community Center with a Carnival, craft corner, game booths and a mini variety show. The program ends with the “count down” to light the Community Tree. Family Assistance Ministries, the City of San Clemente and local churches present this wonderful dinner for those in need in our community. Held at the Community Center. Dana Point Turkey Trot 5k/10k - November 24
The Dana Point Chamber of Commerce presents it's Annual Turkey Trot event on Thanksgiving at 7:00am. This is the 2nd largest Thanksgiving race in the nation. There is a gorgeous flat course running through Dana Point Harbor and Doheny State Beach and new this year is prize money in the 10k. There will also be "chip timing". and Race starts at Dana Point Harbor & Golden Lantern. The cost is $28.00 per person. 5k & 10k and Kids’ Race 1-mile (Ages 5-12). USATF certified courses

Veteran’s Day – Fri. Nov. 11
November 11, is the anniversary of the Armistice which was signed in the Forest of Compiegne by the Allies and the Germans in 1918, ending World War I, after four years of conflict. At 5 A.M. on Monday, November 11, 1918 the Germans signed the Armistice, an order was issued for all firing to cease; so the hostilities of the First World War ended. This day began with the laying down of arms, blowing of whistles, impromptu parades, closing of places of business. All over the globe there were many demonstrations; no doubt the world has never before witnessed such rejoicing. In November of 1919, President Woodrow Wilson issued his Armistice Day proclamation.

This benefit 5k walk raises funds for local families in need and 100% of the proceeds goes back into the community in the form of client aid. Tail of Two Cities – Nov. 5, 2005
Pet Project Foundation is pleased to announce the Fifth Annual Tail of Two Cities, to be held at El Niguel Country Club in Laguna Niguel at 5:30. Tickets are $125 for a sit-down dinner with wine. The theme of this year’s fundraiser is “Paws in Paradise”. Before dining, there will be a silent auction. Tom Sullivan, author, lecturer and entertainer, will be the guest speaker. Blind since birth, Tom has not let this deter his ambitions and successes. During dinner there will be a silent auction for trips, jewelry and much more. The Surfrider Foundation will present a Candidate Forum at the Community Center at 7:30. Come meet the candidates and learn about their position on some of the key issues that San Clemente is facing. Character Counts! Jamboree - Oct. 1, 2005
Presented by the Orange County Sheriff's Department and the City of San Clemente, this free community-family fair includes more than 50 booths, displays, arts, crafts and children's performances. Have a Wild(life) Time! – Oct. 1, 2005
Everyone has burning question about rocks, mountain lions, bats, stars, fossils, rattlesnakes, tarantulas or some other local natural phenomenon. Biologists, paleontologists, geologists, astronomers, and more will come together at The Donna O’Neill Land Conservancy’s Eighth Annual A Date with Nature event to answer questions. Nature of Wildworks will provide a live animal show The event will take place in a beautiful private park at Rancho Mission Viejo surrounded by oak woodlands. The Surf Industry Manufacturer’s Association (SIMA) Environmental Fund is a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation formed by the surf industry to provide support in the form of grants to environmental organizations. A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Surfrider Foundation. Held at St Regis Monarch Beach Resort and Spa, the weekend kicks-off with the 5th Annual Waterman’s Classic Golf Tournament and Luau on Friday. Surf industry business leaders will tee-up on the Monarch Beach Links for a day on the course with celebrity players. DAY – Tues. June 14
Inspired by these three decades of state and local celebrations, Flag Day
- the anniversary of the Flag Resolution of 1777 - was officially established
by the Proclamation of President Woodrow Wilson on May 30th, 1916. While
Flag Day was celebrated in various communities for years after Wilson's proclamation,
it was not until August 3rd, 1949, that President Truman signed an Act of
Congress designating June 14th of each year as National Flag Day

The San Clemente Rotary Club in partnership with the City
of San Clemente presents “Dixieland
Jazz By The Sea", taking music lovers back to the era of ragtime, hot traditional
jazz and the great society orchestras of the 1920's, and 30's. Friday, May 20th
will be "USO" Canteen night with a pasta dinner and a 1940's swing
orchestra. Saturday will feature ten bands, plus open jam sessions where
anyone is invited to play. Tickets go fast, so order early. Come on down

Presented by the International Society of Skateboard Moms, nearly
300 strong, is hosting this event at Laguna Niguel Skate Park. Last

Annual Garden Club Flower Show - Sat. April 23 and Sun. April 24

San Clemente Garden Club, in partnership with the City of San Clemente
Beaches, Parks and Recreation Department, presents this fabulous
event at the Community Center. More than 500 entries of the area's
finest flowers, plants and artistic designs by amateurs and local
garden hobbyists will be judged and on display. The event, one of
the longest running flower shows in Southern California, is enhanced
by entry-friendly free registration that encourages participation
by gardeners and flower enthusiasts of all ages. The public is invited
to enter plants, floral arrangements and cut flowers, or just come
and enjoy the hundreds of colorful entries on display. Also included
are educational exhibits, junior gardening displays of creations
with dried plant materials, a large plant sale and free tool sharpening.
Show times are Saturday from 1pm to 5pm, and Sunday from 9am to
4pm. The Plant Sale is open 8am to 4pm Saturday and 9am to 4pm on

The Casa Romantica is honored to be the only venue
