39th Annual St. Patrick's Community Dinner & Dance - March 11
Tis’ the 39th annual community St. Patrick’s Dinner Dance sponsored by the Exchange Club. Corned beef and cabbage with all the trimmings served from 5:00pm-8:00pm. Enjoy dancing to Max Bishop big band until 10:00pm. Ticket donation a wee $15 per person includes a door prize raffle ticket for prizes. Green beer and a full service bar at extra cost. Big jackpot Opportunity Drawing is also available. This is a fund raiser for local charities hosted by Exchange Club and the City of San Clemente. Wag-a-Thon: A Family and Pet Affair - March 11th, 2006
Pet Project Foundation’s 12th Annual Wag-A-Thon will be held from 8:30am to 1:00pm, At the Wag-A-Thon you will see all manner of breed of dogs. There will be pet contests, food booths, and shopping at the bazaar. For your $25 advance admission fee in addition to the above, you will receive a t-shirt with this year’s logo, a bandanna for your dog, and a goody bag. Your family members may be admitted for only $3 each. Collect pledges for your participation in the Wag walk, and be eligible for great prizes. 14th Annual Festival of the Whales – March 11 & 12, 2006
Events include: Street Faire - Hosted by the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce. Dana Point Plaza, 10am- 5pm Pacific Coast Highway North at La Plaza 949-496-1555. Over 120 arts and crafts booths, including food vendors and live entertainment. Information: (949) 496-1555. Parade - Beginning at 10am, the route extends along Pacific Coast Highway from Selva Road to Golden Lantern in Dana Point. Parade entrants are encouraged to be creative with the "Under the Waves" theme by constructing floats, designing banners, and accessorizing parade vehicles with ocean related decorations. There is no fee to enter. Parade applications are available by contacting Shanna Wolf at (949) 248-3522. Ocean Institute – Interactive exhibits, Tallship Pilgrim tours, Marine Exploration Cruises and Sailing Clinics. 13th Annual Dixieland Jazz Festival – May 12 and 13
The San Clemente Rotary Club in partnership with the City of San Clemente presents “Dixieland Jazz By The Sea", taking music lovers back to the era of ragtime, hot traditional jazz and the great society orchestras of the 1920's, and 30's. Friday, May 20th will be "USO" Canteen night with a pasta dinner and a 1940's swing orchestra. Saturday will feature ten bands, plus open jam sessions where anyone is invited to play. Cruisin' San Clemente - Sat. June 10
A preview to the Classic Car Show, Cruisin' San Clemente is a slow procession of 40 classic cars through downtown San Clemente. The cars will be cruisin' thru Ave. Del Mar at approximately 4:20. San Clemente Historical Society – Thurs. June 22, 2006
Calling police, fire, and other city personnel – then and now – in addition, of course, all our members and friends of the San Clemente Historical Society. We would like to invite you to our 2nd Quarterly Membership Meeting for 2006 which will be held on June 22 (Thursday) from 5 to 7 pm at the Blue Danube in the “Old City Plaza.” Discussion will include: Upcoming events and preservation efforts for the SeaCliff condo project and Miramar Theatre. There will be a tour of the newly renovated former jail cells and rest of the building. Hear stories from those who knew the building not as a restaurant, but as home to the San Clemente Police and Fire Departments, as well as the city garage, carpenter and blacksmith shops, and other public works and maintenance facilities. Waterman’s Ball and Golf Tournament - Aug 5
The Surf Industry Manufacturer’s Association (SIMA) Environmental Fund is a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation formed by the surf industry to provide support in the form of grants to environmental organizations. A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Surfrider Foundation. Held at St Regis Monarch Beach Resort and Spa, the weekend kicks-off with the 5th Annual Waterman’s Classic Golf Tournament and Luau on Friday. Surf industry business leaders will tee-up on the Monarch Beach Links for a day on the course with celebrity players. Then on Saturday, surf industry leaders and friends of the environment will attend the 16th Annual Waterman’s Ball and Auction. Candy Cane Carnival – Dec 2
An array of holiday activities for children presented by the San Clemente Recreation Division and the San Clemente Jr. Woman’s Club. The program is 2:30pm to 6:00pm at the Community Center with a Carnival, craft corner, game booths and a mini variety show. The program ends with the “count down” to light the Community Tree.
